Dive into one of the foundational texts of Yoga Philosophy: The Samkhya Karika by Ishvarakrishna.

This root text of the Samkhya system (one of the six darshanas of classical Hindu thought) contains just 72 verses — yet it lays out a profound metaphysical framework that informs the Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, Hatha Yoga, Ta**ra, and Kashmir Shaivism.

In this 10-hour online course, we will explore:
🕉 Purusha (the witnessing Self)
🌿 Prakriti (material nature)
✨ The 23 tattvas (principles of reality)
⚖️ The three gunas (qualities of nature)
🌌 The path toward kaivalya (spiritual liberation)

Through deep study and discussion, we’ll uncover how understanding these principles helps us reconnect with our true nature — the underlying witness of all experience.

📅 Dates: February 22 – March 23, 2026
🕰 Sundays, 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM PST
📍 Online (live + recordings available)

📖 Yoga as Mythology in Motion -
Dr. Raj Balkaran

Why are so many yoga postures named after gods, sages, and mythic beings? What stories are we embodying every time we step onto the mat?

Join us for a lunchtime talk inspired by The Stories Behind the Poses, exploring the deep relationship between Indic mythology and yoga āsana. These ancient narratives reveal how each posture encodes a psychological movement, ethical insight, or spiritual quality—turning practice into living story.

In this talk, yoga becomes:
✨ a myth enacted through the body
✨ a posture enacted in consciousness
✨ a bridge between physical practice and sacred narrative
