Theta Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated The Tenacious Theta Mu Omega Chapter is continuing the tradition of service of Alpha Kappa Alpha thr C. Irvine and one at U.C. Santa Barbara.

In response to the demand of graduate sisters to form a local chapter, Theta Mu Omega, often referred to as “The Progressive Ladies of Inglewood and Los Angeles County,” was chartered on December 18, 1966 with Eugenia Scott as president. Fifty-two outstanding women were apart of this chartering ceremony and became CHARTER MEMBERS OF THE THETA MU OMEGA CHAPTER. Subsequently, the chapter has more th

an doubled its membership. It has also spawned the organization and chartering of three alumni chapters, Mu Beta Omega, Mu Lambda Omega, Sigma Lambda Omega, and two undergraduate chapters one at U. Theta Mu Omega has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for their service and has won both national and Regional awards over the years for outstanding chapter program activities.

⛓️‍💥 Pain left untreated does not disappear. It spills into homes, relationships, and communities.

Broken Silence – Healing Black Men, Protecting Black Women is a fully immersive public program confronting domestic violence through victim stories, a silent listening experience, and honest community engagement. The intention is clear: move Black men from silence to healing, from avoidance to accountability, and from pain to action.

Counselors will be on-site, including Black male clinicians prepared to offer a minimum of three counseling sessions to men in attendance who are ready to begin the work.

Black men deserve healing. Black women and children deserve safety. Our community deserves both. Accommodations available.

Initiated 38 years ago through the Lambda Alpha Chapter at California State University, Long Beach, she brings nearly four decades of wisdom, grace, and dedication to our beloved sisterhood. 💗💚

Since joining TMO in 2024, Sister LaSonya has made a remarkable impact through her unwavering commitment and servant leadership. As Co-Chair of the Seasoned Sorors Concerns Committee, along with her active involvement in the Membership and Protocol Committees and her consistent support of chapter events, she continues to lead by example and uplift those around her.
