tional faculty and facilities combine to produce future teachers, performers, and audiences for the art of music. Our former students are now musical leaders in classrooms, teaching studios, and other arenas throughout the state of California, the U.S, and worldwide. We are known for excellence in teaching, dedication to small class sizes, competitive music scholarships, competitive tuition rates, and other factors. We view music as an integral part of the liberal arts curriculum and intrinsically part of an interdisciplinary education. We take pride in our tradition of providing exceptional training for music educators, performers, and those who with to go on to pursue further studies in music. Our faculty is deeply committed to providing the utmost in personal attention throughout degree program of every student. Our graduates are respected leaders in all fields of music. Beyond the classroom, the Music Department hosts a thriving performance program including the Mount Chorus & Singers, the Mount Orchestra, the Chamber Ensemble and visiting ensembles including the Salastina Music Society, All have greatly contributed to the cultural life of the college and the city of Los Angeles.

Please join us for tomorrow's inaugural Musical Theater Showcase in Hannon Theater on Chalon Campus at 7 PM, a special show not to be missed! Selections from Cinderella, Company, Aladdin, Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, and Beauty and the Beast will be performed by students Zoey Bunce, Dani Ontiveros, Roxie Bynum, Alexia Vognadou, Julia Silveira, and Sarah Kim, lead by conductor/director Brandon Zhou and joined by guest pianist Sky Lee.

MSMU Music introduces the 2022 Solo & Chamber Ensemble Online High School Music Competition! 🎉Participants must submit an audition video and application online by September 16, 2022 for adjudication by MSMU’s ensemble in residence.

Audition Repertoire: One selection of ANY GENRE! not exceeding 8 minutes in length.

🚨 New category: Electronics and/or Electro-Acoustic Music.

WINNERS: In addition to monetary prizes, winners will be provided with a coaching session with Bridge to Everywhere and be invited to our Mount Saint Mary’s University campus in LA for the WINNERS CONCERT on October 29, 2022. 🎶

Gonna Sing About It!

Celebrate the abiding power of music in a program of inspirational songs composed mostly by women. The program features several selections for voice, strings, and percussion including Controlled Burn by Dessa & Jocelyn Hagan, The Iraqi Peace Song by Lori Tennenhouse, and Never One Thing by May Erlewine.
