The LAVC Aquatics Center is a Community Services program dedicated to a positive learning environment, water safety, and fitness for all ages. Our program offers a variety of classes for eve
ryone, starting at 18 months and going up from there. We offer swimming lessons, both group and individual, water fitness classes, and we now have a Masters Swimming Team. Our philosophy is not to force people to swim, but take time fulfilling the needs of every individual and maximizing their potential. We know that not everyone will be the next Phelps, but we will take you as far as you want to go, in a safe and fun environment. Our children's program is broken into six progressive levels going from not knowing anything at all about swimming to a pre-team which trains for a competitive level program. We do require all new students to do a swim test, which only takes a couple of minutes. All swim tests are done on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Our adult program has even more variety to it with swimming classes and water fitness classes. Our swimming classes start with our Beginning Adult Lap swimming and go all the way to our new Masters Swimming Team. We also offer water fitness classes, like a traditional Water Aerobics and our" AquaFit" class which combines swimming and deep water aerobics for a great work out! We offer a some gentler exercise classes as well like our AquaFit Stretch & Tone, which focuses more on slow, controlled exercises which are great for joint rehabilitation, and our new Pre-Natal Aerobics class, which is fairly self explanatory. We are constantly looking to update and expand our program, so check in with us often to see what new and exciting things we have to offer!
