Connections made. Conversations started. Careers in motion. 🤝✨

August was a big month for Career Services at Smith Chason College!

Our Los Angeles Campus hosted its Career Fair on August 6, followed by San Marcos on August 13 — which marked the San Marcos Campus’ very first Career Fair!

Together, the two events brought:
🎯 20 employers
🎯 146 students, graduates, and alumni
🎯 Employers connecting with our community from California, Arizona, and Nevada

And there were some exciting moments along the way!

Dariann Lozano Cardenas, a March 2025 Diagnostic Medical Sonography graduate, attended representing Nova Imaging, the business she started herself. Seeing a Smith Chason graduate return to connect with current students and fellow alumni as a business owner made the day even more special. 💙

Our students also left a lasting impression. One recruiter from Onvida Health told our team that Smith Chason's San Marcos students were “the most professional that we’ve ever engaged with.” 👏

A huge thank you to the employers who joined us, our Career Services and campus teams who made these events possible, and every student, graduate, and alum who showed up ready to connect and make the most of the opportunity!

A strong start begins with knowing what to expect. 📚

If sonography or nursing is on your radar, entrance exams may be an important part of the admissions process—and the exam you take depends on the program and degree level you choose.

At Smith Chason College, associate-level sonography applicants may take the Wonderlic Entrance Exam, bachelor’s-level sonography applicants may take the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test, and applicants to the Associate Degree in Nursing program take the ATI TEAS.

Understanding these requirements early can help you plan your admissions timeline, focus your preparation, and move forward with more confidence.

Our latest blog breaks down the differences between these entrance exams, what prospective students should know, and how to find the current requirement for your program.

MRI Safety Week gave us another reason to celebrate the incredible partners who help our students learn beyond the classroom. 💙

Our Smith Chason College Externship teams recently visited clinical partners and delivered special MRI Safety Week gifts as a small way to say thank you for everything they do for our students.

Clinical partners are such an important part of the student experience.

They open their doors to future healthcare professionals, share their time and knowledge, reinforce the importance of safe and professional practices, and provide opportunities for students to experience what working in a real healthcare environment looks like.

Every clinical relationship is built on trust, communication, and a shared commitment to helping students grow—and we are incredibly grateful for the professionals and organizations who continue to welcome and support Smith Chason students.

To all of our clinical partners: thank you for being part of our students’ journey and for helping us prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.

And thank you to our Externship teams for making these visits extra special!
