In July, LMU College of Business Administration brought together leaders, changemakers, and innovators from around the world for The World Comes to LA — a week of conversations and connections centered on ethics, sustainability, innovation, and collaboration.

Across disciplines and sectors, we explored what’s possible when people come together with a common purpose — and what can happen when those ideas collide.

🎥 Watch the recap video to get a feel for this transformative week.

Finance alumnus Vikas Prasad '25 used his time at LMU to build a strong foundation in finance while exploring different paths across the industry. 📊

Through the Student Investment Fund, Vikas sharpened his ability to communicate ideas, think critically about the market, and understand the broader macroeconomic environment. Courses such as "Financial Modeling" and "Commercial Banking" gave him a deeper understanding of how businesses operate and helped prepare him for internships and a career in finance. 🏦

Along the way, internships in corporate finance, sales and marketing, and banking gave Vikas the opportunity to learn from professionals, explore different career paths, and discover where his interests could take him.

Today, he's putting that experience to work as a credit analyst at J.P. Morgan.

His advice for students interested in finance? Start exploring early. Take advantage of clubs, courses, internships, and opportunities to connect with people in the industry. The more you explore, the better prepared you’ll be to find the path that’s right for you. 🚀

☀️ Summer Internship Spotlight ☀️

Aloha from Isabella Young ’28, who spent her summer as a customer experience culture & development intern at Bank of Hawaii. 🌺

For Isabella, the experience was especially meaningful. Bank of Hawaiʻi has been part of her family’s story for years, and after hearing great things about the internship program from fellow LMU students, she applied in January and ultimately joined the team after two rounds of interviews.

As a double major in marketing and management & leadership, Isabella loved seeing how marketing and people-focused work intersect. Throughout the summer, she contributed to marketing initiatives and projects focused on understanding people and improving their experiences. 💼

One of her favorite projects was a capstone exploring how technology and people shape the customer experience at the Bankoh Care Team (BCT). By visiting the facility and learning about the day-to-day experiences of call center agents, Isabella gained a deeper appreciation for the people behind every customer interaction. She also developed ideas to support employee growth, from open houses and guest speakers to career development opportunities.

Growing up in Hawaiʻi, community has always been important to Isabella. This internship brought her one step closer to her long-term goal of returning home and giving back. 🌴

Her biggest takeaway? Be authentic, stay positive, and never underestimate the impact of simply being kind and genuinely connecting with the people around you. 🩵❤️

☀️ Summer Internship Spotlight ☀️

Caitlin Herron ’27, a senior marketing major with a minor in public relations, spent the summer gaining hands-on experience as a visual merchandising intern at SKECHERS. 👟

Growing up in the South Bay, Caitlin has always admired Skechers for its connection to the local community and impressive growth. With exciting partnerships spanning the WNBA, the skate community, OG Anunoby, and Harry Kane, it felt like the perfect fit for someone passionate about sports, fashion, and beauty.

From helping prepare the new Skechers store at the Culver City Mall to working on visual merchandising, store audits, and cross-functional projects, Caitlin has had the opportunity to experience every side of the business.

Reflecting on her summer, one lesson stands out: "A great team makes all the difference. Skechers has been incredibly welcoming, and it's been a great reminder that the people you work with can make an experience truly fulfilling. I feel so lucky to be part of such an amazing team!" 💙

to the LMU M.S. in Business Analytics (MSBA) capstone presentations, where students presented innovative solutions to real-world challenges in partnership with six incredible client organizations — Cedars-Sinai, Currie & Brown, Hawthorne Advertising, Irvine Ranch Conservancy, Lifelong Learning Administration Corporation (Lifelong Learning), and Sony Pictures. 📈

From AI agents that make hospital bills easier to understand and LLM-powered marketing analytics tools to data-driven planning solutions and audience sentiment analysis, our students demonstrated the power of analytics, machine learning, and AI in action.

Congratulations to our MSBA students on this impressive achievement, and thank you to our client partners, faculty, alumni, advisory board members, and guests for supporting the next generation of analytics leaders. 🤩
