Hello Fiji Parents....Although no longer sanctioned by the University, we still have guys that are FIJI's. I have a lot of white Nike Polo's with the graphic below on the chest pocket. I will only charge $5 for the postage for them. They are made by NIKE, amazing quality and are great for golfing. I also have woman's white tshirts for the same amount. Finally I have 10-15 FIJI mugs available for sale. Again...I will only charge what it costs to mail $5-10. Please let me know if you would like any. Graduation is in one short month! Miss all of you!

Men's white Nike Polos for sale for $50 each and women's white Tshirts for $25 each. To benefit the water/ice machine for the house and the scholarship dinner in January. We will Have them at the open house or can mail them.

I see a lot of you looking on this FIJI Parents Club Site. I imagine you are waiting for some information about events told to you by your son. It's very unfortunate, but I don't know anything more than you do. I have asked the President of the chapter on June 2 and June 14, if and how we can help. I've been told that they will reach out to us soon. As soon as I here from them, I'll also let you know.

When I was heading up the Parents Club of a USC sorority, they ran into a similar situation. We had a letter writing campaign from the parents and alumni to the USC VP of Student Affairs as well as to the head of Greek Life. I was also able to find an alum and a father who was financially connected to the university to make a call to the VP Student Affairs.

In this case, I feel this could work, along with an alum that would contact the University and let them know that he or they would be willing to work with the chapter to "positively direct" these fine young men.

The Parents Club is so proud of our (soon to be) graduating FIJIs!!!!!

Because we have 17 FIJIs graduating from USC (the best university in the nation,) The Parents Club will be paying for their lunch the day before graduation, Thursday, May 12 at the Jonathan Club in Downtown Los Angeles, only 10 minutes away from campus.

All parents, family, friends and brothers are encouraged to attend this amazing send off. A three course steak or salad meal will be served along with no host cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks. The cost is $75 per person and can be paid by Venmo, Paypal or check. (Heather-Keller, 949-633-3338, [email protected])

Feel free to look back at last years pictures of the event. It was an amazing and cool send off for all the brothers and their families!

(PS.....a personal note from someone who has attended many graduations here. Pictures at the Jonathan Club are amazing. Plus, the best time to take pictures of your graduate on the USC campus is right after this luncheon. The sun at 3-5 is perfect on all the landmarks and most importantly, it's not crowded like it will be on graduation day. You can also get pictures of some of their good friends the afternoon before...whereas it's impossible to find everyone on graduation day. My second suggestion is to ask any hotel you will be staying at in the LA area if they have a USC discount. Many do and the discounts have been good!)

I want to remind everyone about the FIJI Senior Graduation Luncheon at 12:00 noon at the historic and private Jonathan Club in Downtown Los Angeles. This is for family and friends of your graduating son. You will be getting an email invitation in a few weeks. All of the Graduating brothers will be paid for. Only 6 more weeks!!! I hope you will please plan on attending. You'll be happy you did!

I'm so excited for the FIJI's! I was at the house yesterday and looked at the new Pool table that was generously donated by Joan Waitt, Max Waitt's mom. It's in the center room where the fireplace is located.

The house has decided that this room should be used as a FIJI club lounge for the brothers only. They have already purchased a black leather sectional and ottoman which is situated by the projection TV. They are painting the room with a cardinal accent wall and changing all lights to can lights. They would like an area with a table where they can play cards. They would like to build a counter where brothers can also set up their computers to study. They would like to repaint the wall system and install a smaller TV in it with a seating group. It was decided to get a keypad entry system for this room as well as a camera security system for all doors downstairs.

The Parents club is helping with both the costs and the buying of furniture for this room and is calling on help from the parents. What we are looking for, new or gently used is:

~An octagon game table/chairs with a reversible table top/card side.
~Four matching club chairs
~A circular coffee table
~6 matching bar stools
~8x10 and 9x11 rugs in darker colors.
~two sturdy console tables that would be in the back of the couches.

They want this to have a classy appearance with black or burgundy leather/vinyl and wood.

If you can help, please contact Heather at 949-633-3338. I'm working to get this finished by the middle of March. I have a truck and would be happy to pick things up for the guys.

FIJI SENIORS AND PARENTS OF SENIORS TAKE NOTICE!!!
Every year the Parents Club puts on a Graduation Dinner the night before graduation. This year it will be on Thursday, May 12 at the historic and private Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles. However, due to many of the parents having family commitments with extended family that want to celebrate their son's graduation, we've decided to move the celebration from dinner to a graduation lunch.

This venue is spectacular. This year, the Parents Club will be able to pay for every graduating senior's lunch. Families, extended families and friends are invited and encouraged. It really is a fitting celebration to end their university years here at USC and at FIJI.

Please put this date on your calendar and include it in your planning for your son's graduation. We only charge enough to cover the costs. Invitations will be coming out the end of March.

Here are the seniors that I have received from FIJI. If you know your son is graduating or "walking" and is not on the list, please let me know his name and both of your emails. Also, if your son is on the list and not graduating or "walking" in the graduation ceremony, also let me know.

Applications are currently online to apply for the Interfraternity Parent Council (IFPC) scholarship.

Click here to apply for a 2016-2017 USC Alumni Association Scholarship. Click Alumnae Coordinating Council and scroll to Interfraternity Parent Council. Please note the February 1, 2016 deadline.

If the link did not copy over...please have your son simply search for USC Alumni Association Scholarship, Alumni Coordinating Council, Interfraternity Parent Council.
Requirements:

* Only current USC junior standing undergraduate students who plan to be enrolled full time for the 2016-2017 academic year graduating in December 2016 or May 2017 are eligible for the IFPC Scholarship Program.

* Must be taking at least 12 units each semester and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Your fraternity must be a dues-paying member of the IFPC and your fraternity status must be “Active”.

* Students receiving full tuition benefits from tuition remission, trustee scholarships, athletic scholarships or other sources are not eligible for an IFPC scholarship. Applicants must be available for an interview on March 30 or 31, 2016. Please indicate in your personal statement if you plan to study abroad so alternate arrangements can be made such as holding interview via Skype or FaceTime.

Thank you to all the wonderful and caring parents that donated food, time and money to feed these hungry guys during finals. We had Jersey Mikes sandwiches, hot dogs from world renowned Pinks, Pizza, ribs, ham, meatballs, sweet potatoes, salads, chicken, pasta, mac and cheese and more! We had fruit and protein bars and healthy drinks for them left over for their late night studies. The guys absolutely loved this and we will be doing it again in the spring on either April 30th or May 7th. If you couldn't participate in December.....please look into doing it in the spring. It was really fun. You parents are awesome!!! Thank You!!!

Thank you wonderful parents for Feeding our FIJI's for Finals! There are about 34 guys that live in the house. The ones that live outside the house will still hopefully drop by.

I will be at the house by 11:30am this Sunday.

We will feed the guys from 12:30 - 2pm. I will have to go containers for leftovers. Connor, Brennan, Bryant, Mat.....please make sure all the guys know about this.

Those of you who are bringing food, please arrive no later than 12:15 pm. We will have the guys come anytime from 12:15 to 2pm. I will set up a banquet area to place the food. Please don't expect a fancy or themed set up. I don't have a budget for heated chafing dishes or anything. I have learned that while the sororities appreciate a beautiful themed buffet with platters at different levels and flower arrangements, guys do NOT. I just want to make sure these guys have food to eat easily so they can come back to you during the holidays healthy and happy. This is a busy time of year for all of us. So with that said...again, thank you with all my heart!!!!

FEED our FIJIS for FINALS!!!!
Bring your son's favorite comfort food for the whole house to share (for maybe 12 ppl.) SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13 at 11:30-12.
