The countdown to Sunday's commencement is on, and our spotlight series of four Dental Bruin graduates comes to a close with the School's lone Ph.D. in Oral Biology recipient this year, Dr. Amr Badreldin. With a deep knowledge of bone biology, epigenetics, and stem cell biology from his research conducted alongside mentor Dr. Jia Chang, Dr. Badreldin will now begin a Periodontics residency at The University of Washington School of Dentistry.

A long and winding road will lead Dr. Monica Glavin back to her hometown of Ottawa, Canada, this summer, and the start of her career as an orthodontist.

Our Class of 2026 yearbook series shifts to postgraduates, and one of 56 exceptional residents completing specialty training at the UCLA School of Dentistry this year.

Among the 115 D.D.S.graduates in our Class of 2026, 65 will enter private practice while 50 will pursue specialty training. Double Bruin Christopher Mederos has made a six-year commitment to becoming an oral surgeon at LSU Health New Orleans, where he will also earn an M.D.

From São Paulo to Westwood, Priscilla Liu’s journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and a passion for patient-centered care. Through the Professional Program for International Dentists (PPID), she brought together her experiences in Brazil, working in community settings, and UCLA’s collaborative clinical training, and will now carry those skills into private practice in Philadelphia.
