For Naiya Clark, coming to AMDA meant stepping into her dream as an Acting for Camera major. But through her filmmaking class, something shifted.

She realized that acting is only one part of the story. Behind every scene, there is a whole world being built, the camera, the lighting, the editing, the directing, the writing, the choices that shape what the audience feels.

By learning what happens on the other side of the camera, Naiya discovered a new kind of freedom as an artist. She no longer saw herself as “just an actor.” She began to understand the full language of film.

And you can feel it when she talks about her work, the charm, the passion, the curiosity, and the love she has for storytelling.

This is Who I Became at AMDA. Meet Naiya Clark.

We are thrilled to announce our New York Summer 2026 Commencement Speaker - ASHLEY DE LA ROSA! 🎓💜

With a career spanning music, television, and Broadway, AMDA graduate Ashley De La Rosa began performing professionally at just four years old, lending her voice to Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer. Born in New York City and raised in Florida, Ashley began taking voice lessons at age six and wrote her first song at seven.

As a senior in high school, Ashley became one of the youngest contestants to advance to the Top 12 on NBC’s The Voice, where she had the opportunity to work with her first mentor, Christina Aguilera. Ashley’s passion for performing ultimately led her to study at AMDA NY.

Immediately following her AMDA training, Ashley hit the road with the 20th Anniversary National Tour of Rent and later joined the National Tour of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. She made her Broadway debut in Mean Girls The Musical as the standby for Regina George and Gretchen Weiners; and, less than a year later, she joined the Broadway closing company of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. She went on to play Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in the National Tour of Hamilton: An American Musical.

Ashley has since returned to Broadway and is currently starring as Young Haydee in the Tony Award-winning musical Buena Vista Social Club. She will star as Vanessa in the New York City Center Gala Performance of In the Heights later this fall.

On screen, Ashley can be seen as Sienna in Apple TV+’s Dear Edward and as Natalie in Season 3 of HBO’s The Other Two.

Ashley's first EP, God Complex, was released in 2024 and is available on all major streaming platforms. As vocal performance is her first love, she continues to develop her artistry as a singer-songwriter.

Ashley congratulates the newest AMDA graduates and wishes them continued success as they pursue their own creative journeys!
