LGBT Student Services provides educational and support services to students that identify as LGBT+ and allies. The LGBT Student Services Office at LMU focuses on promoting equality, visibility and inclusion of LGBT students within the LMU community. This is done by providing support for the LGBT student community and individual students. The Office serves as the primary resource and support center
for students of all orientations and gender identities by creating an inviting, safe, confidential, and inclusionary atmosphere and campus environment. The staff provides all members of the University community with resources, education, and information about sexual orientation and gender identity and works to engage the University community in regular dialogue about the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity with issues of faith, religion and culture. Within these dialogues, the Office will place a particular emphasis on these intersections as they relate to the University ethos of Interculturalism and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. This page has been created to communicate to our LGBT+ and allied community at LMU and to share articles, pictures and other news/information regarding LGBT+ issues and perspective. Please be mindful of language and demonstrate respect, compassion and empathy when commenting. Our hope is that we are encouraging individuals to engage in critical and open-minded conversations. As an academic institution, we want our students to develop as whole people and engage actively in challenging discourse. Posts that are deemed hate speech, offensive, hurtful, inaccurate/misrepresentative of any population/community or the like will be deleted by the administers of the page.
