The Blood & Platelet Center is the primary source of blood for Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center – consistently ranked as one of the top American hospitals, and the BEST in the WEST. It takes a community to achieve those ratings so during summer (especially), when most students take a much-needed break, we ask our community to help keep the flow. *pun intended.* To speak to a Blood & Platelet staff member or to schedule a blood donation appointment, please call (310) 825-0888 and select option 2. On the day of your appointment (or even after your appointment), scan the QR code to complete the Lifesaver Program sign-in form and let them know the UCLA Naval Science department sent you!

Thank you to all who joined us at Bruin Day! We enjoyed meeting with our NROTC Scholarship Bruin admits and their families during our NROTC Welcome Lunch and were excited to officially welcome two of our newest midshipmen to the battalion. Incoming Midshipman Paminiano and Midshipman San Luis have already activated their scholarship AND committed to UCLA! Best of luck at NSI and we will see you again in the fall.

After joining us at Bruin Day, be sure to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by 1 MAY (for freshmen) or 1 JUNE (for MECEPs & STA-21). If you’ve already decided, you don’t need to wait till the deadline – submit your SIR today!

If you don’t have plans this weekend, head to Easton Stadium to root for your as they take on Wisconsin. Softball's Veteran and Armed Forces Appreciation Game is scheduled for Saturday, 7 MAR 2026 – game time starts at 6:00 p.m. Show your military ID at the Easton Box Office for two complimentary tickets!

And finally (but certainly not least!) our final service selection announcement for the class of 2026. Please join us in congratulating MIDN 1/C Lizbeth Nisperos on her selection as a future cryptologic warfare officer! MIDN Nisperos is majoring in Psychobiology and recently finished serving as battalion commander (BNCO). In this role, she was responsible for the overall leadership, training, discipline, and morale of the entire battalion, and served as the key link between our midshipmen, officer candidates, and officer instructors.

Congratulations MIDN Nisperos! Now all you have to do is graduate!
