Candidate for Accreditation is an accreditation status of affiliation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education that indicates the program may matriculate students in technical/professional courses. Our pediatric physical therapy students had an incredible opportunity to visit Home of the Innocents , where they experienced firsthand the compassionate, high-quality care provided to children and families in our community.

From observing physical therapy interventions in action to learning about specialized services like aquatic therapy, our students gained valuable insight into holistic, patient-centered care. Experiences like this truly bring classroom learning to life.

Spalding University faculty partnered with students in the Health Science Academy at Seneca High School to support their preparation for healthcare careers. Dr. Lukszys from the Kosair for Kids School of Physical Therapy led mock interviews, provided personalized feedback, and shared opportunities within physical therapy and Spalding’s health science programs.

Faculty from Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Physical Therapy, and Nursing also highlighted the importance of interprofessional collaboration in patient care. Partnerships like this reflect Spalding University’s commitment to community engagement, mentorship, and preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Our DPT students visited Kids Center for Pediatric Therapies Kids Center for Pediatric Therapies for experiential learning, getting hands-on experience with pediatric patients. Additionally, our students had the opportunity to experience the therapeutic techniques firsthand!

Experiential opportunities like this bridge classroom knowledge with real-world clinical skills, preparing our future physical therapists to make a meaningful impact in pediatric care.
