Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating 34 dedicated leaders who completed the 2026 Cardinal Leadership Institute (CLI) -- a five-month experience focused on building stronger leadership across the University of Louisville.
CLI is designed to support new and emerging leaders in understanding and advancing UofL’s vision as a great place to learn, discover, connect, and work.
From January through May, this cohort participated in a blend of in-person and virtual sessions exploring topics such as: leadership & management, supporting organizational change, coaching and talent management, and university culture, values, and the Cardinal Principles.
Along the way, participants gained practical tools they can apply immediately, engaged in meaningful conversations about real university challenges, and built valuable connections with peers across campus.
We were also excited to welcome Dr. Kevin McClure, author of The Caring University, as our celebration’s guest speaker, inspiring continued reflection on what it means to lead with care in higher education.
