Meet Noah Allen 👋

-Major: Mechanical Engineering 📚
-Graduation: Spring 2029 🎓
-Involvement: Calculus Preview Program, Leadership Advantage Program and Cards Camp

Noah is a proud second-generation Cardinal who grew up visiting UofL’s campus, following in the footsteps of his mom, who graduated with her D.M.D. from the university. For Noah, UofL’s sense of community stands out above all else. He loves that from freshmen to seniors, everyone respects one another as they work toward the same shared goal: graduating and having fun along the way!

Engineered for Success
Noah chose Mechanical Engineering because he has loved inventing and building things ever since he was a kid. When it came to choosing where to get his degree, UofL's J.B. Speed School of Engineering was the perfect fit due to its unparalleled "flight plan." The program builds three semesters of real-world cooperative education (Co-Op) directly into the four-year schedule, allowing students to graduate on time with extensive professional experience.

Utilizing Campus Resources
Noah is a big proponent of taking advantage of the robust support systems available on campus. As a student who is hard of hearing, Noah utilizes the Disability Resource Center, which has been an incredible partner in helping him navigate his academic journey. He also highly recommends that incoming students use the REACH program to smooth out any small bumps in the road when tackling foundational math and chemistry courses.

Starting Strong Before Day One
Even before his official first day of classes, Noah immersed himself in UofL's engineering summer preparation programs. "I joined the Calculus Preview Program to get an early look at first-year math, and the Leadership Advantage Program, which is a fantastic way for incoming engineering students to connect in a small group setting. Moving in early for Cards Camp right before Welcome Week made it so easy to make friends before the semester even started."

Noah's Advice
"The big thing about visiting this place is asking your questions. No one can read your mind, so ask as many questions as you need! All your resources are here for you, and if you don't know where to go for specific help, just ask."

The Student Organization for Alumni Relations is excited to celebrate our May 2026 UofL graduates! 🎉 Ofelia Mattingly, our president, is graduating with a degree in political science. Her favorite SOAR memory is being a part of the Louisville Alumni and SOAR Mentorship Program for all four years of her time as a SOAR member. "I had amazing mentors that gave me a good network of professionals and career advice!" 🎓 Next, Ofelia plans to attend grad school for a MA in Political Science here at UofL! Congratulations, Ofelia!
