For Terry Atamian, the Jay Leno Garage Tour fundraiser auction became more than a chance to bid on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It became a way to honor his brother Robbie Atamian, who died on March 15.

“I wanted to do this in loving memory of my brother while contributing to a worthy cause of supporting UMass Lowell physical therapy students,” says Atamian, president and owner of Atamian Honda in Tewksbury.

The auction to benefit the Professor Joseph Dorsey Memorial Scholarship began on the same day that Atamian buried his brother’s ashes, which fueled his resolve to win. Over the five-day bidding in June, he increased his offers until the final bid of $36,000 secured the prize.

A big thank you to Terry Atamian and Jay Leno for raising money for our physical therapy students.

What a wonderful commencement story (so good that it made it to People magazine). Two of the daughters graduated from nutritional sciences and nursing in 2023. UMass Lowell reunions should be a fun family affair.

Congratulations to mom and all of her children. Job well done! 👏

Giving during Days of Giving is about removing the one obstacle that could have changed someone’s path. Here's what that actually looks like:

👉 It's the student who almost turned down an unpaid internship—but didn’t have to because of donor support.
👉 It's the first-generation student who stayed enrolled when an unexpected bill hit.
👉 It’s the moment someone realizes, “I belong here.”

If you're in a position to donate, please give to the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences today at the link below. 💙 hashtag

Check out the challenges, including:

➡️ College Advisory Board Chair Amy Hoey and Dean Mary Gallant will donate $2,000 if the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences reaches 130 donors.
