Study abroad for 12 days in Algeria this May and satisfy multiple graduation requirements!

This Honors study abroad program pairs a spring semester course with travel from May 16 to May 28, 2027. You can take one seminar or both:

HONR 3300, Roman Algeria (Arts & Humanities), with Prof. Jane Sancinito. Explore Roman sites like Tipaza, Hippo Regius, and Timgad, and read Vergil, Apuleius, and St. Augustine along the way.

HONR 3400, Modern Algeria (Social Science), with Prof. Jenifer Whitten-Woodring. Study independence, identity, development, and international relations, in conversation with Algerian scholars and communities.

Together the seminars can earn you up to six credits, up to two honors requirements, an Arts & Humanities requirement, a Social Science requirement, and up to three of the four requirements for the River Hawk Experience Distinction (RHED) in Global Engagement.

Thank you to all who attended our Who Killed Charles Allen murder mystery!

From Honors Informational Peer Emerson Tully: "One of the most rewarding parts of Murder Mystery Night was seeing over 50 students from different majors and class years come together. Many students didn’t know one another before the event, but they worked together in groups of four, shared ideas, and collaborated to solve the mystery. It was inspiring to see how quickly a shared goal brought students together, and I think it really reflects what makes the Honors College special: a community of students who are willing to step outside their comfort zones, connect with others, and learn from one another."
