The Iota Mu Chapter of Sigma Nursing is excited to serve our Lubbock community at the South Plains Food Bank—and you can join us! 💜

📅 Date: Thursday, October 16
🕛 Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
📍 Location: South Plains Food Bank, 5605 MLK Blvd, Lubbock, TX 79404

We’ll be helping to fight hunger and support families across the South Plains. Plus, flu shots will be available on site! 💉✨

Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole afternoon, your service makes a difference. Come connect, serve, and make an impact with us! 🙌

Our Sigma Iota Mu Chapter has been honored with the 2023-2025 Chapter Key Award, Sigma’s highest recognition for chapters worldwide! Out of 650+ chapters, only a select few achieve this distinction. 🌍💜

This award celebrates our members’ passion for nursing leadership, scholarship, service, and community impact. Thank you to EVERY member who makes our chapter strong—you are the reason for this success! 💪👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

📍 We’ll officially accept the award at Sigma’s 48th Biennial Convention this November in Indianapolis.

🌟 Meet April! 🌟

April is a dedicated nurse and educator at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she’s shaping the next generation of nurses. With 10 years of experience in cardiac stepdown, cardiac critical care, COVID nursing, and pediatric nursing, April’s wealth of knowledge and passion for healthcare inspire her students every day. 🩺✨

Beyond her career, April is a talented crocheter who loves creating new things, traveling to warm destinations, and spending quality time with her three children. She’s also an active member of her local church.

Her favorite quote, by Benjamin Franklin, reflects her dedication to preparation and excellence:
"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."
