What if a Southern staple could also offer new insights into brain health? Researchers at here at TTUHSC are exploring just that.

A new clinical trial is studying whether daily pecan consumption may benefit older adults with mild cognitive impairment, while also examining the connection between nutrition, gut health and the brain. The study brings together TTUHSC researchers and community members to explore how something as accessible as food may contribute to healthier aging.

This is the kind of work that makes us proud of the TTUHSC community—turning research into opportunities to improve health, expand knowledge and make a difference close to home.

Courage isn't the absence of fear, it’s acting in spite of it. We honor the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families who carry the weight of that day. Never Forget.

What's Happening Wednesday: Abilene Campus Highlight

There have been some great things happening down at our Abilene campus! From Next Stop Nursing camps to Rural Cancer Collaborative projects, but today we wanted to highlight the new campus renovations. Down in Abilene our campus is getting a beautiful refresh, they have added more classrooms and study spaces, and installed some great artwork and refreshed branding. So to all of our Abilene Alumni, next time you are in the area your may want to check out your old stomping grounds, because pretty soon you may not recognize it!
