Happy ! This week, we’re honored to feature The Valdez Family! Their favorite experience at Texas Tech has been watching their son really become part of the Red Raider family! A beloved tradition in their family is watching Texas Tech football together. Their advice for fellow Red Raider families is that they really feel that their son getting involved in activities on campus really contributed to his successful transition into college life. By doing that, he has made some great friends and created wonderful memories! They also shared that a valuable resource for their family has been their son's Academic Advisor, plus, he's had some really terrific professors!

Texas Tech families are invited to encourage their Red Raiders to explore the possibilities of studying abroad at the Texas Tech Study Abroad Fair on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the SUB Ballroom.

The Study Abroad Fair is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the many ways they can incorporate an international experience into their Texas Tech education. Students can explore program options, connect with Study Abroad staff and program representatives, and learn more about important topics such as scholarships, financial aid, academics, and the study abroad application process.
Whether your student is just beginning to consider studying abroad or is ready to start planning their experience, the fair can help them discover opportunities that fit their academic, personal, and professional goals.

Encourage your Red Raider to stop by, ask questions, and see where Texas Tech can take them!
