What does a life of scholarship leave behind?

For LCU Professor of Biblical Studies Dr. Mark Sneed, decades of studying and teaching Old Testament Wisdom literature have shaped not only his field of scholarship, but also the way he understands wisdom itself.

Read more in the latest issue of Reflections to learn more about Dr. Sneed’s remarkable career and the wisdom that has shaped it.

Business as a Calling 2026! Yesterday’s conversation with Robert Taylor and John Zwiacher reminded us that success is about more than what you build, it’s about how you lead, the values you live by, and the impact you have on others.

Grateful for the wisdom and stories shared with our LCU community!

We’re honored to be recognized again as a Great College to Work For® in 2026!

But this recognition isn’t about a title, it’s about the people who make LCU what it is.

Our faculty and staff bring our mission to life every day through the way they serve, support one another, and invest in our students. We’re grateful to be part of a community that cares deeply about the work we do and the people we do it for and with.

Here’s to another year of walking with students and one another 💙

LCU’s instrumental music program is growing and creating new opportunities for students.

When Dr. Lisa Tatum came to LCU in 2022, the Symphonic Band has grown from 11 students to 38, the Big Blue Basketball Pep Band regularly features around 50 musicians, and the Jazz Ensemble was revived most recently in 2025.

“Because of this growth, we have been a part of several consortiums and premieres of new pieces of music over the last few years,” Dr. Tatum said. “Earlier this spring, we were able to travel for our first band tour to give a concert in San Antonio, and I was so honored to lead our students for this. It truly is a joy to work with LCU students!”

Dr. Philip Camp, Director of Choral Activities at LCU, has seen the effect of Tatum’s leadership beyond the instrumental ensembles. “She has brought renewed energy not only to the instrumental program but also to the entire Music building,” Camp said. “Her contagious enthusiasm inspires great performances and unforgettable memories for our students.”

From the concert stage to the basketball court, LCU’s growing band program is giving students more opportunities to develop their musical abilities, grow as leaders, and serve others.
