It was a wonderful Graduation Ceremony for General Surgery Class of 2026, and thank you everyone for participating. It is the largest gathering in recent memory. To our residents, Drs. Osaid Alser, Shannon Corbitt, Ali Elsaadi, Shawn Senter and Allison Vaughan and to our Fellows, Dr. Alyssa Brown and Dr. Sljivic – congratulations! We handed out the Inaugural Dr. Bob Salem Award in the honor of the first chair of TTUHSC- Surgery, Dr. Robert Salem to Dr. Elsaadi!
We would like to congratulate Dr. Mark Williams and Dr. John Kidwell for the faculty awards they received, and also to thank them for organizing another well-attended and successful Resident’s Graduation. Kudos as well to Danielle Shears, our surgery residency coordinator. Special thanks to Lourdes, Kat Crain, Dr. Griswold and Kenzie for their assistance. We were delighted to see our friends and UMC staff from the OR, SICU and ER.
