Our EMT students are taking learning to the next level in the immersive room!

Today, students used the immersive classroom to explore the anatomy of the human body in a hands-on and engaging way. This technology helps bring the classroom to life by allowing students to better visualize body systems, understand how the body works, and connect anatomy to real-world patient care.

Experiences like this help prepare our future EMTs to think critically, build confidence, and apply what they learn when caring for patients in the field.

This past Saturday, we had the honor of celebrating our Paramedic graduates at their pinning ceremony. These students have spent countless hours in the classroom, lab, clinical settings, and field environments preparing for one of the most challenging and meaningful careers in healthcare.

Their journey has required sacrifice, dedication, long nights, missed family time, and a commitment to serving others when they need help the most. We are incredibly proud of each graduate and excited to see the impact they will make in their communities.

One of the exciting opportunities available to our paramedic students is the chance to complete a ride-along with Centra One, the region’s medical helicopter, during the final phase of their field clinical experience. Students must meet specific program criteria before participating in this advanced clinical experience.

Earlier this week, Matt had the opportunity to take part in a flight with the Centra One crew. Experiences like this allow our students to see the critical role that air medical services play in emergency care and patient transport.

Great job, Matt, on reaching this milestone! 🚁

Today our EMS students got to train in our new immersive classroom. 🚑

This technology allows us to place students in realistic environments like a river bank or the top of a mountain while still in the safety of the classroom. It helps them see the scene, recognize hazards, and think through what their patient needs before they ever step into the field.
A great way to bring real-world EMS training into the classroom. Proud of the work our students are doing!

Here’s what that means for you:

✅ Students who meet Virginia residency requirements may pay as little as $2,000 for the entire accelerated paramedic course.
✅ Students who live in qualifying localities may be eligible for To***co Region grant funding.
✅ Students who qualify for G3 (Get Skilled, Get a Job, Give Back) — based on financial need — could attend for $0 out of pocket.
