Good morning and welcome back! The semester has started and classes are in full swing. That means we’re getting ready to start productions. Tonight at 6pm we’ll broadcast our first football game of the season on ESPN+. Our crew, faculty and staff have been busy preparing for the last week.

The rain stopped and the sun came out. We had a great production led by our students in the trailer while faculty and staff announced and ran cameras. The school year is around the corner and we had a good start to the fall production season.

The semester is almost here but production starts today. Some of our students, faculty and staff came back for the women’s soccer game today. It’s currently in a weather delay as we wait for a storm to pass, but tune in around 2:30 to watch our ESPN+ production.
We’re ready to go and excited for the semester.

Shoutout to Keaton Thompson, who will be a senior in the BC&J program next year. He spent the weekend working with UTV broadcasting and streaming graduation. Our students are often found around WIU working in multiple facets.

Cobe Blackmond and Caiden Strenz graduate on Saturday. Cobe has spent the second half of this semester working for Chicago Sports Network while finishing his last semester. Caiden has been interning with the Louisville Bats during his last semester while also traveling to the NCAA basketball tournament as a journalist and working the OVC basketball, softball and baseball tournaments. Throughout their time at WIU they were extremely active in multiple facets of the BC&J program. They sat down with our Sports Production Coordinator, Baldwin Martinez, to share their stories and advice for students in WIU's Broadcasting Program.
