Be on the lookout for changes coming soon. Follow the new WIU School of Communication, Media, and Experience Industries page to keep up-to-date with what is happening in the school beyond our productions. This page will become the student media page to share all the student work on one page.

The broadcasting and journalism major is not going away. The School of Communication, Media and Experience Industries is the blanket school over multiple majors. This move will create a more unified space to promote our activities and what is happening among all the majors.

As part of his senior project, Konner Pearman is shadowing the journalists and news crew at WGEM. Last week he did his first day of job shadowing. It’s a great opportunity for him to go behind the scenes and get exposure to what life will be like in his field after college.
Thank you WGEM News - The Tri-States' News Leader for providing him with the opportunity and for your continued support of our students!

Our students were busy last week with sports coverage and news. They’re taking on more control of their productions as they develop more skills.

Keep on the Lookout! There will be changes coming soon.

This page will become the Leatherneck Student Media page to continue highlighting the work our students are doing with the Western Courier, Leatherneck Insider, News 3, The Dog and sports broadcasting. We will be working to deactivate the other pages, many of which have not been active for several years.

The BC&J program will be moving other content to the WIU School of Communication, Media, and Experience Industries as all the programs continue transitioning into a unified school.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we move through this process.
Be sure to follow the new school page!

The Leathernecks left the field with a win Saturday and our students put in another great production. Two more home games left in the season. They continue to put in the work and it shows. They’re improving each week.

WIU BC&J students worked with TSPR yesterday, September 29 and on Tuesday, September 22 to broadcast the candidate forums in Galesburg and Macomb for district and county officials. Our students worked in multiple facets on the productions and had the opportunity to learn the importance of providing local political coverage in their communities.
Thank you Tri States Public Radio for working with our students and providing the opportunity.
