We offer collaborative, one-on-one consultation on any writing project from any discipline at any point in the writing process.

We serve the Western Illinois University population including current students and alumni. The University Writing Center’s writing consultants are resource experts who offer writing support in one-on-one and group settings to all writers on any project at any stage of the writing process. Through collaborative engagement between writers, ideas, and texts, we support writers in their growth and dev

elopment by connecting them with resources and teaching them techniques and strategies for improving and honing their writing. We also seek to support faculty and classrooms in best practices for teaching and learning writing through workshops and in-classroom support tailored to specific needs. We collaborate with other units across campus both to enrich our own understanding of the diverse writers in our community and to build partnerships in an effort to better serve our community.
