Earlier this month, siblings Dr. Michael and Rebekah Hudgins presented CAPS staff with a plaque detailing the history of their childhood home that is now a part of Mercer's campus.

For decades, a historic house on College Street in Macon welcomed family and neighbors with open arms.

In collaboration with the Tift College of Education at Mercer University, alumna Stephanie Myers brought her sixth grade students to the Macon campus for a day of robotics.

“We have shared lunch together in the caf almost every day for the past three years. We met each other in the caf, and our friendship grew from there. We’re sorority sisters, we’re Big-Little, and we are each other’s best friend. Together we would greet Miss Takisha, cross our fingers for our favorite caf foods (caf hot dog, baked spaghetti, oatmeal raisin cookies, Fried Chicken Wednesday, and International Eats), study, and people watch. … We’ve laughed and cried here. Mercer is ‘the place,’ but the caf was our place.”

In response to overwhelming demand, five additional screenings of the new documentary "Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul" have been planned at The Piedmont Grand Opera House and Capricorn Sound Studios and Museum.

The Piedmont Grand Opera House will host a premiere screening of Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul on June 11, followed by additional screenings at The Grand and Mercer Music at Capricorn.
