Mercer professors Joy Fernandez de Naryan, D.N.P., and Adaline Buerck, Ph.D., are among the honorees on Georgia Trend's 2026 40 Under 40 list.

In recognition of their inspiring work, two Mercer University faculty members were chosen for Georgia Trend's 2026 40 Under 40 list.

The Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University's Georgia Baptist Association of Nursing Students (GBANS) earned eight awards during a recent convention. Thirty-three Mercer students, two faculty members and the College's admissions team attended the Georgia Association of Nursing Students event.

The Mercer student chapter won West District Chapter of the Year, Newsletter of the Year, Community Health and Service Award, and Media and Online Presence of the Year. In addition, Insha Dodhia received the Centurion Humanitarian Award; Kristy Park, Ambassador Award; Mikaila Handberry, Novant Health Image of Nursing Award; and Nicholas Petroni, Karl Lipinski Male Leadership Scholarship.

The Mercer community is invited to a fireside chat with President Penny L. Elkins, Ph.D., on Oct. 22. The free event, offered in person in Macon and by livestream, will explore the themes of purpose, vocation and leadership in Parker J. Palmer’s book "Let Your Life Speak."

The Mercer University community is invited to attend Let Your Life Speak: A Fireside Chat with President Elkins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Presidents Dining Room in Macon.

Buddhist monk Phra Ajarn Maha Dam Phommasan is returning to Mercer's Macon campus and will lead a Community Peace Walk on Oct. 18. The event is open to the public and will begin at Washington Square Park and end on Cruz Plaza.

Mercer University's Office of the University Minister will host a Community Peace Walk on Sunday, Oct. 18, beginning at 2 p.m. at Washington Square Park.

Grayson Bolinaga and Kristopher Hammond are among 10 students chosen from across the country for internships with The King Center for Nonviolent Social Change.

Mercer University's Grayson Bolinaga, CLAS '29, and Kristopher Hammond, CLAS '29, have been selected for internships with The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta.

Mercer University’s Beloved Community Initiative will hold its 21st annual Building the Beloved Community Symposium on faith and racial justice on Oct. 20 and 21, featuring a full slate of free events and meals that are open to the public.

Nine Mercer University students have been awarded a UN Millennium Fellowship, presented by the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network.
