Devin Harris Cecere ’04 recently joined Susan Allen for breakfast and a wonderful visit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During their time together, Devin reflected on the path that began with an internship while she was a student at Wesleyan College and how that ultimately led her to the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her master’s degree in public administration, and to a meaningful career in nonprofit management. Today, Devin serves as Program Assistant for The Grable Foundation in Pittsburgh, continuing a career centered on making a difference in her community!

During a recent trip to Cleveland, Ohio, Susan Allen had the opportunity to visit with Dr. Joy Tang and her husband, Anthony Kroestch. Joy reflected on coming to Wesleyan from China in 2005 and the scholarship opportunities that made her Wesleyan education possible. After studying psychology at Wesleyan, she continued her journey in higher education and now serves as an associate professor of psychology at Youngstown State University. She remains proud of her Wesleyan roots and grateful for the opportunities her alma mater provided.

There’s a lot to cheer for at Wesleyan this fall! 🏐⚽🏒

Volleyball and soccer are back in action, and this year brings an exciting first as Wesleyan Hockey takes the ice for its inaugural season!

Susan Allen enjoyed visiting Bill Kenneweg in Cleveland, Ohio, where she heard the remarkable story of his late wife, Sylvia, and her connection to Wesleyan College. Sylvia came to Wesleyan in 1961 at just 15 years old after escaping Castro’s regime in Cuba. Having previously attended a Methodist school in Cuba, she found a new home at Wesleyan, which provided her with a full scholarship. After graduating from Wesleyan, Sylvia continued her education at Ohio State University before embarking on a 31-year career teaching Spanish at Hathaway Brown School, an all-girls school in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

When Arline Atkins Finch ’56 arrived at Wesleyan in 1952, she couldn't have known that the relationship she was beginning would ultimately span more than seven decades.

She immersed herself in Wesleyan life as a student leader and athlete, later returned to teach English and served on the College’s Board of Trustees. And throughout their lives, Arline and her husband, Ron, remained devoted supporters of the College she loved.

“Arline absolutely loved Wesleyan. She felt it prepared her well for life after college; she loved her time as a student, and she never forgot it,” recalled Ronald E. Young, executor of the Finch estate.

Now, that love for Wesleyan will live on.

Ron and Arline have left Wesleyan more than $8.6 million, the largest bequest in the College’s history. Their extraordinary generosity will support scholarships for future students, advance the transformation of Porter Gymnasium and the SHE WILL Campaign, and strengthen the College for generations to come.

Wesleyan alumnae, we have someone we’d like you to meet. Patrice J. Williams has joined Wesleyan as our new Vice President for Advancement, and one of her first priorities is getting to know you!

As a graduate of a women’s college herself, she understands personally the lifelong impact of an education intentionally designed to cultivate women’s voices, leadership, confidence and sense of purpose.

Her approach to advancement starts with relationships. Patrice plans to spend time listening to Wesleyan alumnae, learning what this College has meant across generations and understanding why so many of you continue to invest your time, talents and resources in Wesleyan.

As she put it, “This is an opportunity to deepen relationships with alumnae, cultivate new partners and strengthen a culture of philanthropy that will sustain this College well beyond right now.”

We can’t wait for you to get to know Patrice and for Patrice to get to know the remarkable Wesleyannes who make up the alumnae community. 💜

Our alma mater has once again been voted Best College/University in Middle Georgia - marking Wesleyan’s fourth consecutive year receiving the honor!

For nearly 190 years, Wesleyan and Macon have grown alongside one another. Today, our students are still learning in classrooms where they’re known by name, building relationships with faculty, gaining real-world experience, and preparing to lead wherever life takes them.

This recognition belongs to the entire Wesleyan community, including generations of alumnae who have carried the Wesleyan name far beyond our campus gates.

We hope you’re just as proud as we are!
