Howard Temin Lakeshore Path parkrun

Howard Temin Lakeshore Path parkrun is a free 5K run/walk every Saturday at 9am on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison.

We meet at the north end of Park Street, but inside the Memorial Union in winter. Pre-run briefing begins at 8:45.

Hi friends! HTLP parkrun #279 went off nicely today! We had about 50 participants today who completed the course before the raindrops picked up. Everyone was able to dodge the new students moving into dorms today too. And, we also got to celebrate Tom's 25th volunteer event! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures today as we were short a photographer.

But, a huge thank you to our volunteer team: Miriam as scanner, Julius as token guy (ha!), Shelby kept time, Phil & Tom were marshals, Britta was TW, and Dave directed all of us.

Hi all! HTLP parkrun #279 is on Saturday, August 29th. Students will be back, so things may be full of excitement on campus! Looking to be a pretty nice morning. Hope you can join us to run, walk, or jog the HTLP parkrun course!

As usual, we will meet at 8:50am at the north end of park st. at the picnic tables. This is between the Memorial Union and the Helen C White library. We will have announcements and head to the start by 9am.

Would you like to volunteer this weekend? Well, we could use YOU! We are lucky that our chameleon Tom will be positioned at the turnaround. But, we could use a boathouse marshal and a tail walker this weekend. Please let us know if you are interested!

Hi friends! We had a great group of 53 participants today at HTLP parkrun #278! It was really gorgeous out this morning. And, it was the last weekend before students are back in large number.

A huge thank you to our volunteer team: Eli & Susen as marshals, Laurie stepping in (pun intended!) as tail walker, Dave as RD, Shelby kept time, Yohan helped on tokens, and Stuart helped scanning. Oh, and Susen snapped some pictures too!

One more thing -- it was TUTU day!! August 22nd! We had a great group of tutu wearing friends today.

Hi friends - HTLP parkrun #278 is on Saturday, Saturday, Saturday!! Will you be joining us? I am not seeing too many other major events in Madison, so why not come to parkrun? You could start a new Saturday morning habit by jogging, walking, running, or volunteering with us!

As usual, we will meet at 8:50am at the picnic benches at the north end of Park st. We will have announcements and head to the start by 9am. If you would like to volunteer with us, we could use a boathouse marshal, turnaround marshal, and tail walker. Please let us know if you are interested in these roles!

Well done, parkrunners!

And volunteers -- thank you to Dave and Shelby checking the course, Stuart timekeeping, Kevin and Alissa marshaling, Lisbet tailwalking, Julis and Miriam handing and scanning tokens and Rich directing.

We had 44 out enjoying the course today and would love to do it again next week? Who'll join us?

Happy Thursday, friends!

HTLP parkrun #277 is just around the corner on Saturday, August 15th. It's currently looking like about 70 degrees with some chance of precip. Same as last week, which as you can see turned out beautifully. The UW marching band was just hitting the practice field and we suspect we'll hear some rousing music as we pass by (in each direction) in the coming weeks.

Everyone is always welcome at parkrun -- just show up at the end of (600) N Park St, Madison in time for our briefing. Parking is available in the same block. The plan is to head to the starting line right at 9am.

If you'd like to wear a brightly-colored vest, even better -- just let us know where you might like to volunteer or we can suggest something.

It was a lovely morning for ~30 people to complete HTLP parkrun #276 today! Thanks to everyone for battling the difficult parking around the Madison-mini participants. We had really nice weather and some music from the post-race festivities in the background.

We had a great volunteer team today too: Ben & Steven as BH marshals (yes, two!), Anne as TA marshal, Rich on photos & parkwalking, Kerry as TW, Eli scanning, Mary helping with tokens, Dave as RD, and Shelby kept time.

Hi HTLP parkrun friends. We are looking forward to HTLP parkrun #276. Are you going to join us? The weather looks like it should be really nice. However, the Madison Mini marathon and 5K are happening on Saturday. That will likely make it tricky to park. So, please plan some extra time to get to the start.

As usual, we will meet around 8:50am at the picnic tables at the north end of Park Street. This is between the Memorial Union and Helen C White library. We will then have announcements so we can try to head to the start by 9am.

We could still use a marshal and a tail walker this weekend. If you are interested in either of these roles, please let us know.

HTLP parkrun #275 was a bit wet, but a great time was had by all! Great job to all who came out in the wet weather this morning. We had about 50 participants today who completed the course, with several first-timers, visitors, and a 50-parkrun milestone (good job Steven!).

We also appreciate everyone's tolerance of some timekeeping hiccups. The rain affected timekeeping more than we expected. There may be a few times off, but hopefully not too many. We did our best, but apologize if your time is slightly off.

Also, we have a big volunteer crew to thank this week: Julien & Eli scanned, Miriam & Jessie tailwalked, Laurie parkwalked, Tom & Jaal & Kristin as marshals, Shelby kept time, Dave was RD, Rich took photos, and Stuart hopped in to help with tokens when we had complications with the rain. Thanks everyone!

Hi friends -- HTLP parkrun #275 is coming up on Saturday, August 1st! Let's hope the rain passes before 9am so we can have some dry conditions. We definitely need the rain, but hopefully it will be done just in the nick of time (if not earlier)

As usual, we will meet at the picnic tables at the north end of park st. This is right between memorial union and the helen c white library. We will meet at 8:50 am to have announcements and head to the start by 9am.

We are also lucky that we have two tailwalkers and two marshals already lined up! If you want to help at the start/finish, please let us know. Or if you want to help a following weekend, please let us know.
