Featured here today is a letter written by Ann Windle from the Windle Collection. Ann was an active member of the Tri Kappa - Madison Sorority for decades, where she held many roles, including serving on the committee for the planning of the “Madison Antiques Show” in 1979. She provided quite the description of Madison and its great provenance for antiques as a way to try to attract antique dealers to town for the show that served as a fundraiser for the organization.

Conveniently enough, HMI is preparing for our own auction, featuring some items from the Windle Collection, and we thought her words were just too great not to use! Our auction is on September 19 at 10 AM. You can find more information on our website, link in bio, or Facebook event page. We have some great antiques that need new homes! As an added bonus, your help gets us one step closer to reaching our fundraising goal for the Sullivan House.

Beyond the auction, this is the 75th Anniversary of the Tri Kappa Tour of Homes in Historic Madison, IN, which Ann was part of founding back in 1950. In her honor, we will be showcasing some artifacts from past tours and from Ann’s life at the Shrewsbury-Windle House as part of the tour. Tickets are on sale now! Happy Easter 🐰

Our Tri Kappa - Madison were out for the 2026 Egg-stravaganza 🐰 deliveries yesterday!! They delivered over 75 dozen candy filled eggs in Jefferson County!! THANK YOU to everyone that supported this fundraiser - it is one of our favorite!! Plus every single $ goes to scholarships & grants to support the Jefferson County community ❤️
