We can't wait to see what folks are gonna bring to this amazing exhibit! Limited spaces so don't wait! In 2024, this was such a success that we are bringing it back with 'Indigenous Wisconsin: Beyond Acknowledgement'

Additional details below in post.

Call for artwork!

Madison College is seeking artwork for its November 2026 Art Show, Indigenous Wisconsin: Beyond Acknowledgement, on display Nov. 9 through Dec. 11.

This year’s exhibition asks an important question: What comes after a land acknowledgment?

Native artists are invited to submit work exploring relationships with Wisconsin’s lands and waters through land, place, memory, language, community, story and practice.

The submission deadline is Oct. 9. Artists can apply through the Indigenous Wisconsin submission form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/IndigenousWI

Thanks to WMTV 15 News for stopping by the powwow this past Saturday!

People across the state traveled to Madison College’s annual powwow, an event showcasing Native American culture and colorful traditions.

The Native American Student Association would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for this year’s Madison College Powwow.

Because of our dancers, singers, drum groups, vendors, volunteers, college partners, families, students, and community members, we were able to celebrate another successful powwow together.

This gathering continues to hold a special place in our hearts. It is more than an event — it is a space for community, connection, culture, and coming together. We are grateful to everyone who helped carry this tradition forward and made the day meaningful.

Thank you for showing up, supporting our students, and being in community with us. ❤️🖤🤍💛

We’re proud to welcome students, families, alumni, elders, and community members to campus for a day centered on culture, connection, and celebration. This year’s theme, Celebrating Woodland Song & Dance, honors the traditions of this region, and we’re excited to gather in community with all who join us. The powwow takes place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Redsten Gym at Truax Campus, with grand entries at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Come spend the day with us!
