🚨UPCOMING EVENTS 🚨

On Monday at 6:00 PM in Grainger 2175, we will welcome Matt Spalter, CEO of East Goes Global. His agency specializes in international marketing and partnerships across sports and entertainment, working with over 200 partners, launching 700+ local channels, generating 200M+ followers, and driving more than $100M in global revenue. This will be a great opportunity to learn about global brand strategy, digital growth, and expanding sports properties into international markets.

Later in the week, join us from 6:00–8:00 PM at Union South for our SBC Bowling Social. This is a great chance to connect with fellow members and build relationships outside of our professional development events.

Reminder that semester dues of $35 are due next week. Be sure to submit your dues to remain eligible for SBC events and opportunities.

🚨SPEAKER EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨

Join us next week for a speaker meeting featuring two Wisconsin alumni currently working with the Green Bay Packers organization.

We will hear from Peyton Cox, Titletown Marketing Intern, and Katherine Price, Sales and Business Development Activation Intern. They will share insight into integrated marketing campaigns, influencer activations, partnership strategy, sponsorship ex*****on, and game day operations.

Both speakers previously worked within Wisconsin Athletics and will discuss how they leveraged their campus experience into professional roles in the sports industry.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about careers in marketing, partnerships, and professional sports.

The event will take place in Grainger Hall 1185.

The dress code is business casual.

🚨EVENTS ALERT🚨

Next week, SBC will be hosting and attending two great opportunities to get involved and learn more about the sports industry.

On Tuesday, February 10, you can find us at the 2026 Spring Org Fair from 4:30–8:00 PM at Table #56. Stop by to learn more about SBC, meet members of our executive board, and hear about everything we have planned for the semester.

On Thursday, February 12, we will be hosting a Wisconsin Athletics Panel from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Media Room at the Kohl Center. This panel will feature professionals working within a range of Wisconsin Athletics departments who will share insight into potential internship/other opportunities to get your foot in the door in the sports industry!

Dues are required to attend the panel. Members who have already paid Fall dues are all set, and new members will have the opportunity to pay at the door. Please make sure to bring your Wiscard and to dress business casual.

❄️ WINTER TRIP RECAP ❄️

Our SBC winter trip to Denver gave members an in-depth look at multiple sides of the sports industry, from early career development to fan experience and brand strategy.

We began at Altitude Sports, where Tim De Lay shared insight into Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and the importance of behind-the-scenes production in supporting organizations like the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, while also operating across a broader sports and media portfolio.

At the Denver Broncos, our discussion with Andrew Leeder, Chris Schindele, Damian Farinola, and Caroline Deisley centered on early career growth, internships, and the importance of building relationships. A key takeaway was how even brief connections can have a meaningful impact years later.

We wrapped up at Ball Arena with Makenzie Pedersen, Jahaira Chavarria, Shayna Galzer, and Kerry Anne Biren, where the focus was on fan experience, long-term scheduling preparation, and how Kroenke Sports & Entertainment supports its properties while allowing each team to maintain a distinct brand and audience.

Huge thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with our members and help make this trip an unforgettable learning experience!

🎉SBC CUP NIGHT AT NITTY GRITTY 🎉

Join us this Friday, December 12th from 9 PM to close at The Nitty Gritty for our SBC fundraiser! We’ll be selling cups throughout the night, so bring your friends, stop by, and help support the club.

Join us this Wednesday, December 3rd from 5:30–6:30 PM for a panel featuring professionals from the Milwaukee Brewers!

We’ll be hearing insights from members of the organization about their roles, career paths, and experiences working in Major League Baseball. This is a great opportunity to learn more about life inside an MLB front office and the many departments that bring game day to life.

The event will take place in Grainger Hall 1195.

Blake began his career in game operations with the NFL, gaining valuable experience behind the scenes of professional sports production. He has since built a career in broadcasting, now leading operations that bring live sports to fans nationwide.
