The College of Engineering's Engineering Moonshot brings UW leaders together around six ambitious challenges. Global food security is one of those challenges, and solving it will require innovations that reach far beyond the farm. One of the project's co-leads is Extension state specialist Alfonso Morales, who envisions a moonshot that connects engineering, agriculture, manufacturing, and nutrition to address the growing demand for high-quality, low-cost sustainable food.

These leaders will build the teams, partnerships and momentum needed to transform ambitious ideas into meaningful impact.

Nearly 200 volunteers who love Wisconsin's waterways came together for the 13th annual Aquatic Invasive Species Snapshot Day, a statewide search for aquatic invasive species (AIS). Volunteers monitored 125 different sites, and AIS were detected at 61 percent of sites.
