September is National Firefighter Appreciation Month! 👩🏽‍🚒👨🏾‍🚒👩🏼‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒

I am honored to recognize and celebrate the men and women, both current and retired who have proudly served the Jackson Fire Department and our community.

Firefighting is more than a job; it is a calling that requires courage, sacrifice, commitment, and a willingness to put others before yourself. Every day, our firefighters answer the call to protect lives, property, and the communities we proudly serve.

To our current JFD firefighters: Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and willingness to serve.

To our retired JFD firefighters: Thank you for laying the foundation and paving the way for those who serve today.

Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and your commitment to the fire service will always be appreciated.

Please join me this month in saying THANK YOU to the incredible firefighters who continue to serve and those who have served before us.

May God continue to bless and protect the men and women of the Jackson Fire Department. ❤️

In Memoriam: September 1, 2021 - LODD
District Chief Marshal Hilley, 53
Gulfport Fire Department. Gulfport, MS
While on-duty, District Chief Hilley contracted COVID-19 while at the fire station. He passed away from the virus on September 1, 2021.
