Madison Memorial made it to the state championship game under coach Nick Krohn, son of former UW Baseball player Ron Krohn. Ron Krohn was Pat Richter's roommate and a founder of the Dugout Club, Inc. which was originally support group for the UW Baseball program.

The Spartans overcame an early deficit against Muskego to earn a high-scoring 11-8 victory in the Division 1 state semifinals Thursday at Appleton North High School.
