We are delighted to announce a new NSF Research Training Group at UW-Madison. The five year program will train undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers at the intersection of mathematics and artificial intelligence.

Beginning in Fall 2026, MAIS will support research assistantships, reading groups, seminars, workshops, and conferences in areas including interpretable and reliable AI, AI for mathematics and scientific computing, identifiability and parameter estimation, tensor analysis, and algebraic statistics.
