Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc. - Lambda Chapter Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc., is the country’s oldest Native American Greek letter organization. Founded at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Our motto is "My Sister as Myself". The Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc. was founded at UNC-Chapel Hill on September 1, 1994. It is the first Native American greek letter organization in the Nation. The sisterhood has 11 undergraduate chapters, seven professional chapters and one provisional chapter with over 500 sisters representing 70 tribes across the nation. The sisterhood dedicates ourselves to

four fundamental principles: respecting Native American traditions, supporting self-renewal through continuous education, honoring the Creator, and addressing critical issues facing our Native communities and society at large. The official philanthropy is the National Indian Education Association (NIEA).
