🌽🫘🎃 Three Sisters in the WETCC Community Extension Family Garden

Corn, beans, and squash—known together as the Three Sisters—are growing together in the 2026 WETCC Community Extension family garden.

This planting method brings the three crops together in a way that supports growth while reflecting generations of Indigenous agricultural knowledge and connection to the land.

Miigwech to our Community Extension team for sharing a glimpse of the garden this season. 🌱

Every Child Matters 🧡

From September 28–October 1, WETCC will observe a Week of Remembrance, Reflection, & Learning in recognition of the children, survivors, families, and generations impacted by Indian Boarding and Residential Schools.

Throughout the week, our campus community is invited to visit the remembrance area, make or wear an orange ribbon, learn from the boarding school educational display, and participate in the asema offering.

On September 30, wear orange for Orange Shirt Day and join us at 12:00 PM in Maananoons for a screening of Unspoken: America’s Native American Boarding Schools.

The observance will close October 1 with care of the asema offering according to community teachings.

In remembrance. In solidarity. In learning. 🧡
