CT State Manchester, formerly known as Manchester Community College, located in Manchester, CT, awards associate degrees and certificates in more than 80 areas of studies, and also offers short-term career and personal development programs. Manchester Community College is one of the largest of the Connecticut Community Colleges, with more than 7,000 undergraduates in credit programs each year, and it has the largest percentage of traditional-aged college students among its sister schools. MCC is proud of its academic excellence, new facilities, flexible schedules, small classes, low tuition, and faculty members with both academic and "real-world" credentials. Classes are held days, evenings, weekends, and online, and they prepare students for entry into a growing career field or transfer to a baccalaureate institution for further study. Articulation agreements with the state’s universities provide ease of transfer and maximize credits awarded. Financial aid is available, and comprehensive packages of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study opportunities help make an MCC education affordable for all.

🎨 Celebrating Our Artist Faculty at CT State Manchester!

CT State Manchester’s ORIGIN/practice: Faculty Art Exhibition, on display in the Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery, brought together the work of 17 talented artist faculty from our Visual Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Photography programs.

Working across a wide range of media, the participating artists explored ideas of observation, abstraction, memory, material, landscape, identity, history, craft, and experimentation. The exhibition highlighted not only the diversity of their individual artistic practices, but also the creativity and curiosity they bring to their students and classrooms.

The campus community gathered this evening for an Artist Reception in the Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery, celebrating the exhibition and the faculty artists whose work made it possible.

Participating Artist Faculty:
Linda Till Bradley · Jorge Costa · Brett Eberhardt · Ella Geida · Sherie Gage · Timothy Kussow · Rebecca Lee · Rachel McNamara · Julia Morgan · Maggie Nowinski · Maura O’Connor · Kate Oggel · Shayna Piascik · Blake Shirley · Kathleen Curran Smits · Barbara Solomon · Steven Uc***lo

A special thank you to Professor Maura O’Connor for the promotional designs and to Rachel McNamara and Work-Study Student Star Conly for their work in bringing the exhibition together.

📍 ORIGIN/practice remains on view in the Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery through October 22, 2026.
