The Child Development Family Studies Club was featured in the MSU reporter! The club is all about creating a supportive community for students who are passionate about helping children and families. Carly Ellison, one of the clubs leaders said the goal is to help students grow both personally and professionally.
“We want to give members a chance to learn about careers in the field, make connections, and get real experience,” she said. Ellison, who helped restart the club, added that she wanted to create a space where students could feel supported while figuring out their future career paths.
CDFS Club offers a variety of activities, from volunteering and community events to guest speakers and career panels. Members get to explore paths like social work, child life, education and family services. The club also focuses on fun, hands-on experiences that connect what students learn in class to real life situations, especially through play and activities with children and families in the community.
