1919: Founded as the School of Nursing affiliated with Mansfield General Hospital.

1997: Transitioned to MedCentral College of Nursing.

2010: Ashland University acquired the College of Nursing from MedCentral Health System. College was renamed based on a $5 million gift from Dwight Schar towards the future campus.

2012: College of Nursing merged with the Sports Science and Dietetics departments

to becoem the Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences, offering degrees in Athletic Training, Dietetics, Exercise Science and Nursing.
