Michigan Baja Racing The Michigan Baja Racing team is a student-run design team housed within the College of Engineering

SAE Baja are collegiate competitions organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Students build a prototype off road vehicle intended for mass production and sale as a safer alternative to an ATV. A new car is built from the ground up each year to compete in as many as three competitions against over 200 collegiate teams from around the world. Every component is designed and manufactur

ed by students, using analysis tools and manufacturing processes that are mostly learned outside of class.

Last weekend the team and car had an outstanding performance at our first competition of the season in Oregon! We placed 6th overall, 1st in Design, and 2nd Maneuverability!!

The 2025 season has come to an end at the South Carolina competition. The team worked hard, winning the 4 hour endurance race and placing 2nd overall in dynamic events. We are also proud to announce a 2nd place overall finish at the South Carolina competition, as well as 2nd place in Mike Schmitt for the competition cycle!

Thank you for all the support from our sponsors, alumni, family, and friends who were able to make it to the competition and for your support throughout the 2024-2025 season! The team is proud of what we were able to accomplish this season and we could not have done it without you! 2nd Place in Maryland!!

Last weekend the team and car had an outstanding performance at our second competition of the season in Maryland! We placed 2nd overall, 1st in Endurance, and 2nd in Business!!

The team had a great start to the competition season this past weekend at Baja SAE Arizona placing 5th overall. We also placed 2nd in both Acceleration, Maneuverability, and Cost.
