Sometimes, a dream begins with simply seeing what’s possible. 💙💛

Long before alumna Linda Morales became an instructor at Chipola College, she remembers riding by campus and seeing the Chipola sign. She knew that if she ever had the opportunity to go to college, this was where she wanted to be.

As a first-generation college student, Linda credits her parents for making sure she understood just how important an education could be. And she carried that lesson with her.

After attending Chipola, she continued her education, and she’s now on the campus she once dreamed of attending. This time as a much loved instructor encouraging and mentoring the next generation of students!

There’s something pretty special about that full circle. The place Linda once looked toward as an opportunity is now the place where she helps others see what’s possible for themselves.

Chipola gave Linda Morales the Freedom to Become the instructor and mentor is she is today. 💙💛

Now she’s helping others do the same.

Are you looking for extra support to reach your academic and career goals, Chipola College’s TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program is here for you! Applications are now open for the Fall 2026 semester!

Student Support Services is a federally funded TRiO program that provides free academic and personal support to help eligible students stay on track, graduate, and transfer to a four-year institution.

Program Benefits:
• Personalized academic advising and degree planning as well as early registration
• Free peer and faculty tutoring through the award-winning Academic Center for Excellence (ACE)
• Campus tours to major universities (FSU, FAMU, UF, UWF, Troy, FSU-PC and more)
• Career and transfer guidance
• Workshops on financial literacy, study strategies, and time management
• Peer mentoring and faculty support

We loved welcoming future nurses to Chipola’s Practical Nursing Open House this week! Several of our guests didn’t just come to learn more about the program. They took the next step and signed up to begin their journey toward a career in nursing! 💙💛

💙💛 Freedom to Become | Alumni Stories: Sherry Young

Sometimes, the place that helps you become who you’re meant to be also becomes a place you choose to give back to.

For Chipola alumna Sherry Young, her journey has come full circle. From her start at Chipola to a career as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Sherry has built a life centered on serving others. Today, she continues that spirit of service as a member of the Chipola College Board of Trustees, helping create opportunities for the students who will come after her.

In the second installment of our Freedom to Become alumni series, hear Sherry share what Chipola gave her the freedom to become and why that foundation still matters today.
