Our wonderful president!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We are thankful for all of the wonderful women in our lives who inspire us everyday!

Emily Vigue is the president of Marietta College’s Student Government Association. She chose this path because she wants to develop her advocacy skills, communication, and planning. In high school, she held many leadership positions that were labeled as ‘bossy’. Instead of being discouraged, it made her want to keep going and strive to be a better leader. She defines her leadership style as having a focus on being authentic. The way she engages followers involves a lot of communication, open discussions, and respect. She feels that these components are critical for all organizations but especially student-led organizations. After college, Emily will try to keep a focus on follower engagement but is open to adaptation.

Thanks to everyone that came to the Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony. It was an honor to be a part of this. A big thank you to the veterans who have sacrificed their lives for our country and all the current members of the military.
