One of our SOTE partner schools! Good work is happening at Allen Elementary School in Marion, IN!

After Allen Elementary saw 212 suspensions in 1 year, the school created New Beginnings to change behaviors and the school culture.

Every semester, the SoTE faculty has the privilege to witness the impact our education students make on the lives of students in our Grant County schools. While many graduates do move on from this place a number of students stay and are ready to contribute in meaningful ways to our community.

For six years, the SoTE has gathered for a retreat day, or what is known in the education world, as a FIELD TRIP. This year's retreat date was set many weeks ago for today. We had already decided to visit Amy during the morning hours. Before we could get there, we learned she had received her healing. We piled into an IWU van and kept with our plan so we could go to support Mike and family.

Today we cried together, comforted one another, shared our memories, and prayed together.. Amy would have said it was a "God Thing". She would be right. Later the SoTE, faculty shared a meal together and hiked a few trails. God knew we would need to be together. Our SoTE tribe (faculty and students) ask for your prayers as we grieve the loss of a wonderful woman who was our colleague, sister in Christ, and friend.

Each year we take a picture together. This year's photo shows that our number is one less, but our hearts are full because we carry Dr. Amy Forshey with us.
