With heavy hearts, the Marlin Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. mourns the passing of our beloved soror, Soror Sandra Massington.

We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time. May they be surrounded by comfort, love, and strength.

Soror Sandra was kind, very supportive, and always ready to serve. Her sweet spirit and dedication to others will truly be missed. 21 years of love, service, & sisterhood ❤️🔺

The Marlin Alumnae Chapter was proud to participate in the MISD Back-to-School Bash!

We enjoyed:

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.

One week later & we’re still smiling from our 50th Southwest Regional Conference!! We connected with sorors, laughed, learned, and took care of Delta business. The energy, love, and shared commitment to service and sisterhood made it an unforgettable experience. Until next time, Sorors ❤️🔺🐘
