πŸƒ Biologists are human too. πŸ’š

Between teaching/learning, research, labs, fieldwork, meetings, and everything else that fills our days, making time to step away matters.

For some of us, that means running.

We have some avid distance runners in the Biology Department, and Dr. Mandeville is always happy to have students join her for a run. Whether you are training for a race, getting outside between classes, or just looking for a reason to move, there are plenty of ways to get your miles in around Marquette.

And there is a perfect opportunity coming up: NMU’s 3rd Annual Mind Over Miles 5K is Thursday, October 8 at 6:00 p.m., starting and finishing at the Wildcat Statue near Jamrich Hall. The run/walk is held in connection with World Mental Health Day and highlights the connection between physical and mental wellbeing.

Who are we seeing at the starting line? πŸ’šπŸ’›

'Tis the season! Yes, its beautiful outside in our U.P. autumn, but the campus is still sometimes strangely quiet. That's because the students are busy working!! This was the sight outside the two BI310 labs this morning. Beverages parked outside, while the students grappled with statistics inside! Just because we love it, doesn't mean its not work!! Persistence makes it happen!

πŸ” Forensic Sciences starts with the details.
Our BI 128: Fundamentals of Forensic Science students have been hard at work learning how investigators properly document a scene through notes, measurements, evidence markers, and scene sketches.
The goal is not just to record what is there. It is to create a clear, accurate record that someone who never entered the scene can later understand and evaluate.
Hands-on practice makes all the difference. πŸ§ͺπŸ“πŸ“‹
