Final Release of CONSENT Gnome Wearers!

Set 4 is now live, marking the final opportunity to participate in the CONSENT Gnome challenge.

Gnome wearers can be found in the Business Office, Student Store, Accessibility & Support Services, and the Academic Success Center in Thaw.

This initiative highlights the importance of consent, which should always be clear, ongoing, and freely given. Participants must ask for consent before scanning to engage.

Don’t miss this final opportunity to participate before the campaign concludes!

The CONSENT Gnome challenge continues with Set 3 now available across campus!

Students can find gnome wearers in Cooper Athletic Building, Fayerweather, Campus Ministry, Bartlett, Thaw, and the Business Office; all helping spread awareness about consent, boundaries, and healthy relationships.

As a reminder, participation requires asking for consent before scanning their button.

Gnome Means No is officially LIVE! 👀

This campus and community-wide initiative is part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and is sponsored by the PAVE Program (Prevention, Awareness, Validate, Educate).

Throughout April, gnomes will be hidden across Maryville College’s campus AND local businesses in the Maryville community sharing messages about:
💜 Consent
🌿 Boundaries
🤝 Healthy Relationships
🛡️ Respect

✨ New gnomes will be released each week
📅 The campaign runs all April and ends April 30
🏆 A winner will be announced during Finals Breakfast

🚨 The Gnome Means No Mini Consent Game Has Begun 🚨

Our interactive consent-focused mini game is officially live across campus.

Faculty and staff are participating by wearing “Ask Me About My Gnome” buttons. Students are invited to engage—but with one important step:

👉 You must ask for consent first.

Before scanning a QR code or interacting, students should ask:
“Can I scan your Gnome QR Code?”

If the answer is yes, they can proceed.
If the answer is no, that boundary should be respected.

This activity is designed to help our campus community practice consent in a simple, real-world way.

We encourage students to participate, reflect, and engage with this experience as part of building a culture of respect and communication.
