This past week the School of Agricultural Sciences welcomed the American Angus and Angus Genetics membership teams to campus to participate in some hands-on beef cattle educational workshops. Sessions included Connecting EPDs to the Eating Experience with Dr. Kiersten Gundersen, Tools for Genetic Progress with Dr. Kaitlin Clizer, Foot Scoring and Structural Evaluation with Mr. Jim Husz, and Methods for Collecting High-Quality Genetic Samples with Mr. Randy Hanson. It was an informative, fun-filled interactive afternoon that included the assistance of several students in Dr. Clizer's Animal Breeding and Advanced Reproductive Techniques classes, and Dr. Gundersen's Meat Science classes. Thanks to the American Angus Association for allowing us to spend some quality time with their very important team members!
