Beginning September 8th, a portion of College Drive will be closed for storm sewer construction. The closure is expected to last up to 10 days and will temporarily prevent direct travel between the main campus and student housing.

During construction, the student housing parking lot will remain accessible from 12th Street. Anyone traveling between the main campus and the residence halls should follow the posted detour using 12th Street, California Avenue and Highway 18.

Please allow extra travel time, use caution in the area and follow all posted detour signs. Thank you for your patience as this important work is completed.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome students back to NIACC for the first day of classes! There’s a special energy on campus today as students head to class, reconnect with friends, meet new instructors and begin a brand-new semester. For some, it’s the start of their college journey. For others, it’s another important step toward earning a degree or certificate, building new skills and preparing for what comes next. To all of our new and returning students, welcome to NIACC. We’re glad you’re here, and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year. Here’s to a great first day and an even better semester ahead!

Yesterday was Orientation Day at NIACC! The excitement on campus was hard to miss! It was so great to welcome so many new students as they prepared to begin classes on Monday. Today marked the return of faculty to NIACC as we kicked off the new academic year with our annual All-Staff Meeting.

It was a high-energy morning filled with games, laughter and plenty of NIACC spirit as we gear up to welcome students back to campus next week.

We were also excited to welcome Shawn Harper as our featured speaker. Shawn is a former NFL player who began his college journey at NIACC in the late 1980s. He shared an inspiring message to help set the tone for the year ahead.

It was a great way to start the semester, reconnect with colleagues and get ready for another great year at NIACC.
