MSU Extension is excited to offer a three-part Fall Horse Management Series designed to give horse owners, youth leaders, and barn managers practical, easy-to-use information that supports healthier horses and stronger farm management. I am asking for your help in promoting this workshop series.
This year’s sessions cover key topics that are relevant to horse owners:
• September 8 – Toxic Plants & Emergency Preparedness Learn how to identify toxic plants commonly found in Michigan pastures and explore simple steps to prepare your farm and animals for emergencies.
• October 13 – Horse Nutrition & Pasture Management Build confidence in understanding forage quality, ration basics, and seasonal feeding needs, along with pasture management practices that improve long-term forage health.
• November 10 – Biosecurity in the Barn & Manure Management Discover everyday practices that reduce disease risks and manure-handling strategies that support cleaner barns and healthier pastures.
