Rio Grande McArthur Center was honored to host a visit from Congressman Dave Taylor and State Representative Mark Johnson, Michael Perkins, Kellie Johnson and Sheriff Ryan Cain, and we are deeply grateful for the support and dedicated representation for our area.

We are thrilled to be fulfilling Rio’s mission to uplift communities through life-changing opportunities, now further empowered by our brand-new multi-million dollar facility that we now share with our students and the residents of Vinton County and beyond. The Rio Grande McArthur Center will open our doors for summer semester at our new location at 105 Cherry Hill Lane on Monday June 1st.

To commemorate the support and advocacy of Andy Adelmann, who served on the Board of Trustees for Rio Grande Community College for 40 years, we had the privilege to name our Conference Room in his honor. Mr. Adelmann, thank you for your service to RGCC and to the Vinton County community through development and growth of the center! We appreciate you more than you know!

We had the pleasure of continuing to provide cords of special recognition to our CCP students throughout the day. If you have been a VCHS Rio CCP student and haven’t stopped by to see if you qualify for this special acknowledgement, please do so tomorrow. We enjoy seeing our high school students decorated for their special day, and have truly enjoyed working with you over the years!

If you are returning to Rio, we can’t wait to continue seeing you in the Redstorm Family. If you are going on to another institution, know that you are always part of our family and are happy that you take Rio McArthur Center with you wherever you go. The time has come for us to move! We will be taking appointments only Monday - Wednesday of next week, closed Thursday and Friday and Monday for the holiday, and then open up at our new location on Tuesday May 26th! Stop in tomorrow to register for summer, or make an appointment for Monday - Wednesday!

Today is the day we celebrate our graduates and we are so excited for you all. When you walk across the stage, shake hands with the President and hold your degree in hand, we hope you took a minute to recognize how much you have accomplished.

What an amazing journey from deciding to further your education, committing to the process of learning and growing through the years of studying and preparing essays, absorbing new formats for assignments and mastering the competencies required to pass each course, has now resulted in reaching the benchmark of college graduate!
